Welcome to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School in Asbury Park, N.J. Our Lady of Mount Carmel School serves communities located in Monmouth County under the direction of the Office of Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Trenton.
Our school has a rich tradition of education in the Catholic faith. Founded in 1923 as an institution of learning for children of folks immigrating from Italy. Our school has been impacted by historical changes over these last eighty-six years. We are so proud of the fact, that one of our graduates from the first class at Mt. Carmel, still attends functions in the parish. She is over one hundred years old.
Today, we continue as a school but now we have a culturally diverse population of God’s children. Many of our students reside in the economically challenged neighborhoods of Asbury Park. Mt. Carmel continues to be a beacon of hope for those in need of light in children’s lives. Everyday all of us here know and try to live our mission statement: We walk by faith We learn without end We care for and treasure all We are the family of God
